Charlotte County Transit is a shared ride curb-to-curb transit service provided to the public throughout Charlotte County. The service area consists of most of Charlotte County and includes the Charlotte County portion of Englewood, Port Charlotte, and Punta Gorda.
Charlotte County Transit operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday service is restricted to a limited area. Charlotte County Transit is closed on Sundays and all National and County recognized holidays.
Scheduling in advance may give you multiple options for services, although some day trips may be scheduled based on availability.
Anyone 13 years & over can ride on Charlotte County Transit. Children under 13 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
All Charlotte County Transit trips are currently FREE of charge until further notice.
Charlotte County Transit can take passengers to several locations such as:

- Area Attractions
- College
- Meal Site
It is requested you cancel your reservation at least 1 hour in advance of the scheduled pick-up window. If you do not cancel the reservation at least 1 hour in advance, it will be recorded as a “Missed Trip”. To cancel a reservation, please call 941.575.4000, Option 2.
Cancelation line opens at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturdays.
When making your trip reservation, the dispatcher will provide you with a 30-minute pickup window based upon your requested destination arrival time. You can also request to receive a notification call of your reservation the night before your schedule trip.
Charlotte County Transit takes subscriptions for passengers who work a regular schedule or passengers who go to the same location on a regular basis. The passenger's only responsibility after making a subscription with Transit is to call to cancel any scheduled trips they are not going to take at least 1 hour in advance. This will not interrupt a subscription.
Charlotte County Transit will wait for three minutes upon arrival at any location, allowing time for the customer to board/acknowledge the bus's arrival. Passengers, holding the bus for longer than three minutes, may be considered a no-show.
Yes, all Charlotte County Transit Vehicles are fully accessible. Our ramps make it easy to board in a wheelchair, scooter, with a walker or stroller.
Individuals, who are physically or otherwise disabled, 60 years of age or older, or qualify as low income, may be eligible for the Transportation Disadvantaged program service. Transportation Disadvantaged applications can be downloaded from our website at http://nc86.dlokoko.com/transit/ or you can call 941.833.6233 to request an application be mailed to you.
